Presidency reveals why President Buhari does not wear nose mask

President buhari not wearing nose mask amidst others wearing nose mask

The Nigerian presidency has rejected claims that the head of states, Muhammadu Buhari, is breaking safety guidelines by not wearing nose masks amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

A clarification, however, is made known by the President’s media aide, Lauretta Onochia, on Saturday, May 16, via social media in a tweet.

According to Onochie, President Buhari has no reason to wear nose masks since he operates from his safe environment within the presidential villa, Aso Rock.

Visitors, on the other hand, she said, are under obligation to wear nose masks always around the presidential villa to protect the household.

One of the guidelines contained in a document signed by the secretary-general of the federation, Boss Mustapha, said Nigerians should always wear face masks in public places.

The directives by FG followed President Muhammdu Buhari’s easing of the lockdown earlier imposed, especially in states like Lagos, Ogun, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.
