Manchester United signed a contract with former Watford striker Odion Ighalo of Shanghai Shenhua until the end of the season.
The deal to deliver a 30-year-old player from Nigeria to Old Trafford contains no option to buy.
Ighalo, who is currently in China will be flying to the United Kingdom. The Nigeria striker has conceded 39 goals in 99 matches for Watford between the years 2014 and 2017.
“Odion is an experienced player,” said Yule Gunnar Solskjär.
“He will come and give us the opportunity to choose another type of center forward for the short spell that he is with us.
“A great guy and very professional, he will make the most of his time here.”
Ighalo advanced to the Chinese Super League in the year 2017, initially with Changchun Yatai. The following two seasons, he moved to Shanghai Shenhua and scored 10 times in 19 games.
