A young man has been arrested for the alleged murder of his cousin in other to access 2 million naira returns made on land sales in Auchi, Edo State.
According to reports, following the disappearance of the victim simply identified as Lateef, the alleged culprit, identified by the name Coma was arrested by the victim’s parent as the number one prime suspect. However, he was later released on the same day on the bases of little or no evidence.
Unknown to Coma, the parents of the deceased had already reported to the management of Guaranty trust bank (Gtb) to monitor the late Lateef’s bank account for any cash withdrawal.
Coma who had access to the victim’s bank details while attempting to have funds moved to his account was arrested on the spot following a tip from the bank to the parents and respective officials in charge of the case.
Coma, however, confessed to the murder of his cousin solely on greed and concealed his death by burying him in a shallow grave.
