One Ebenezer Nana Bonsu has been arrested by the Ghana police for battering his three-year-old son for bedwetting and being stubborn.
According to Ghanaian media, 26-year-old and his wife live apart. The boy lived with his mum until April when the father took him over during his third birthday.
The constant abuse of the boy from his father triggered a neighbor to alert his mother, who came immediately to his rescue.
Ebenezer was arraigned before a Ghanaian court yesterday for assault and causing harm to a child. He, however, pleaded not guilty and pleaded for bail. This plea was objected to by the Prosecutor, Inspector Regina Oparebea Amoako, who stated that the suspect would be a threat to the mother and the victim.
The judge granted him bail but would not remand him in custody due to the Coronavirus pandemic. His trial will commence on May 21st.
Ebenezer’s family member, however, considered a psychiatric check on him to be sure he does not have mental disorder as presumed since a job opportunity he landed a while ago that changed him.
