Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele has cleared the air on the backlash received for holding a house party during coronavirus lockdown.
On Sunday morning, a video made rounds on social media showing Funke Akindele and her husband, JJC Skillz celebrating with friends and celebrities alike to mark the latter’s birthday.
However, Nigerians frowned at the social gathering, accusing the actress of violating the simple rules of the lockdown and social distancing.
In reaction to the backlash, Funke and her husband have now taken to their respective social media pages to express their opinions.
JJC SKillz went live on Intstagram to say: “A lot of people are ranting online. It’s your data. Go ahead.”
Funke, on her part, wrote: “Thanks for the love guys!!!! We all have been together for over two weeks, we are safe and take all precautions.
“Don’t create unnecessary sensation. Omoghettothesaga was to be filmed before the lockdown and some of us had been camped in Amen Estate. So we had to stay in there. We are safe and happy! Let’s not be NEGATIVE!!”
