A rare video of an American man speaking Yoruba language has taken social media by surprise as the self-acclaimed Ilorin-born spoke fluently.
The Caucasian man who claimed Nigerian citizenship stated that he hailed from Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.
In a short interview with a Nigerian lady, he identified himself as Yakubu Durojaye, and all through the conversation, he spoke in fluent Yoruba with the Nigerian lady.
Yakubu Durojaye made it known that he lived in Ilorin for two years, where he was a teacher, adding that he enjoyed a number of Nigerian delicacies — eba, egusi, obe-ata, and amala.
The video has wowed fans on social media who praised him for his dedicated efforts to learning the Yoruba language — one of the three most common languages in Nigeria.
